Confero mystery shoppers are a diverse group of customers
whose actual professions range from accounting to zoology. Confero shoppers are
reporters--not assessors. They are average customers, but because they remain anonymous,
they provide very candid feedback.
Shoppers report on their experiences as an average customer--a perspective
managers and owners cannot offer because they are too close to and too knowledgeable of
their industry.
Shoppers are independent contractors, most of whom are employed full-time
elsewhere. They are not employees of Confero and are not obligated to accept Confero
shopping assignments.
To recruit new shoppers, Confero seeks referrals from its experienced shoppers.
Confero also recruits just as any company would. Shoppers apply to Confero via a shopper
profile form. Shoppers are asked a series of questions to determine their background and
capability to report fairly. Their ability to communicate via surveys is
assessed prior to acceptance by Confero to be a mystery shopper.
Confero continually recruits shoppers to replace those lost to natural
attrition, bias, a less-than-expected experience or poor performance in
reporting on their visits.
