Elaine Buxton Named President of Confero Inc.
Cary, NC. — January 1, 2000 — JoAnn Buxton, Chairman of Confero, Inc. announced today that Elaine Buxton has been named President of Confero, Inc. “Elaine is incredibly prepared to take the business into the new millennium,” said JoAnn Buxton. “She has been deeply involved in the leadership of the business since she came here in 1986 and has, most recently, had oversight responsibility for Confero’s transition to 100% web-based services. Confero is in good hands.” Elaine Buxton said, “I am honored by the confidence placed in me and I will continue to work hard to earn the continued trust of the board and our employees.”

About Elaine Buxton:
Elaine joined Confero is 1986, after managing operations for Wedgwood China Marketing Ltd. In Frankfurt, Germany, a $12 million 31-store division which marketed Wedgwood products to NATO forces in Germany, Italy and Belgium. In 1987, she returned to the U.S. and joined Confero. She was named President of Confero in 1999. Elaine was deeply involved in the formation of the Mystery Shopping Providers Association, having served on the Operating Committee which formed the Association and then serving on its Board of Directors for the past year. She has also served on the Meredith College Board of Trustees, as President of the Raleigh Professional Women’s Forum, on the Cary Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and as Board Chair of the non-profit Life Experiences. Elaine earned a BSBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from Meredith College.
About JoAnn Buxton:
JoAnn formed Confero is 1986 as a consulting firm specializing in training and education. With a background in education, she realized that the first step in any training process is “needs assessment”. As the firm grew, more clients become interested in the need assessment phase of the training and, as a result, Confero’s mystery shopping services were launched. She soon realized that the “needs assessment” aspect of training programs was missing in the marketplace and the firm shifted its focus to mystery shopping. Ms. Buxton successfully guided the business from start up through transition to Elaine Buxton in 1999. She is credited with not only building a business, but with building the firm’s customer service philosophy and its reputation for leading-edge quality assurance.
