Confero announced that it supplied mystery shopping information for the 2014 Smiling Report.  The Smiling Report compiles data from mystery shopping evaluations conducted in over 35 countries worldwide. A total of 1.6 million shops contributed to the 2013 data.

The data reports on three areas:   whether the mystery shopper received a smile, a greeting and an add-on sales suggestion during his/her visit.

For the U.S. mystery shopping evaluations reported in 2013, the shopper received a smile 89% of the time, a greeting 89% of the time, and an add-on sales suggestion 61% of the time. U.S. averages were higher than the wordwide averages of 83%, 86% and 57% respectively.

Media and professional mystery shopping providers worldwide who participate in the Smiling Report may use the data for benchmarking and communications, provided that they refer to the source.
