Consumer Alert – Richard Smith Falsely Posing as Confero Employee

Please be aware of a recent scam, where the fraudster invites you to participate and provide feedback for a study, asking for your physical address in order to send you a letter about a fake assignment that involves cashing their fraudulent check, and purchasing and mailing money orders to them. The letter includes a Confero logo that looks like our actual logo, and the letter is addressed to Independent Feedback Agent. It asks the recipient to purchase blank money orders and also to visit a USPS location to provide feedback on a transaction experience.

The employee falsely claims to work for Confero and gives his name as Richard Smith and his phone number as 442-221-1170. He also asks the consumer to text him once the blank money orders have been purchased and mailed to him.  Please do not fall for this scam! Confero does not mail checks to mystery shoppers and our assignments never require shoppers to purchase money orders and mail them to anyone.

The fake website used is conferoinc@usa.com. This is not our website; ours is conferoinc.com.
