Confero President Elaine Buxton Attends Women Impacting Public Policy Conference

Elaine Buxton, president, attended the Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) Conference held on October 9-10, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency Washington in Washington, D.C. Â

The event was intended to include a legislative fly-in, however it occurred during the federal government shutdown. Attendees were able to connect with staffers within the Small Business Administration and others who gave of their time to meet with the business owners. Engaging programs centering on navigating through government contracting and new labor research rounded out the conference.

The WIPP is an organization supporting women and minorities in businesses by serving as an advocate in the legislative process. Â It also provides economic opportunities for members to build alliances with other small business organizations. Â The organization aims to educate members on economic policies that impact business growth, with the goal to make a strong impact on Capitol Hill and with the Administration.
