Confero started in 1986 as a training consulting service. We conducted needs assessments to determine how to customize training for each client. As clients asked for more and more needs assessments, we shifted our focus toward mystery shopping services.
In 1998, Confero was involved with the formation of the Mystery Shopping Professionals Association (MSPA) and our president served on MSPA’s first Board of Directors.
Along the way, we had developed our own reporting system. In 2002, we licensed a leading platform to build our online reporting programs. Our decision to migrate from a build-your-own system restored our ability to focus on our core business, grow and remain flexible for situations requiring scale.
And scale we did. In 2009, Confero was recognized on the Inc. 5000 List of Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies in America.
We started a motivation and rewards service to allow clients to offer customized, branded gift cards and monetary rewards to their employees who perform well. The rewards build momentum for ongoing excellent performance.
Our access to thousands of contracted mystery shoppers led us to launch compliance audit services to support our clients’ best practices and risk management efforts.
And as social platforms and online customer reviews grew, we introduced a social media monitoring tool so clients can quickly reply to reviews on the fly or with templated responses. Our tool includes sentiment analysis using AI and assigns scores to unrated text like tweets and Instagram posts so metrics can be tracked.
Everything rolls up neatly into our reporting platform, so clients can monitor mystery shopping, compliance audits and social listening from one dashboard.
Up next: a tool that allows clients to request tasks from customers, inside the client’s own app, in exchange for rewards. Think, “Send us a photo of your purchase today and earn 50 points”, or “Tell us if the LTO promo is visible, upload a photo and get $5 off your next purchase.”
