Latest Scam: Scammer using Confero name asks Consumers to Cash Fake Checks
Confero was informed today of another scammer who is using the Confero name to try to lure consumers into cashing fake checks and then later sending money back to them. The email below shows the fake request.
Please notice that the from email address is not a conferoinc.com email address. It is 5c4ceee0-01fe-471f-88d5-1097ebc54144@ascend.wix.com. If you receive an email like this, please check the from email to see if the email is legitimate.
We thank the shopper who informed us of this scam. If you receive an email like this, please delete it and do not reply, and do not provide any personal information to the scammer. Confero does not issue checks to mystery shoppers for any reason. Confero issues payments by PayPal only. We would never ask you to deposit a check and then send us money.
